Writing Myths and Spelling Books
This week we have begun writing our first drafts of our own myths. You should have previously planned and invented mythical characters. To get some ideas for creating your own mythical character see this web site: http://www.eaudrey.com/myth/index.html
Each student in the novice group now has their own spelling book. Today each student added words that they have trouble spelling to their spelling book. You all need to practice these words as we will have a spelling test this Thursday.
Poetry
Hi groups 2 and 5, we have started a unit on poetry. So far we have looked at the 3 features of poetry: Rhythm, Rhyme and Visual Images. To get the notes on rhythm click here Poetry Rhythm Activities. We have discussed rhyming patterns, written limericks, taken notes on similes, metaphors and personification and written poems with these features. To get the notes and activities for these topics see me in person.
